Hughesville Canyon 4,700 ft.
Enjoy 25+ great dispersed campgrounds sites peppered through a 10 mile stretch of the Little Belts. These dispersed campsites on the Dry Fork of Belt Creek are very close to Monarch, Montana. Though the name indicates there is no water, the creek does run most of the year next to the campgrounds. Along the road you can also find two public bathrooms, Bender Trailhead and glimpses of the mining history that existed many years ago. These campsites do not cost anything to stay at, but are limited to 16 days per site.
Please note:This section of the Little Belts is a mix of private and public land! Please pay close attention to signage and the map, and recreate in a way that is respectful of the landowners. Pack it in, pack it out!
